North Skye Broadband will rely on the generosity and help of landowners, farmers and crofters. There is only one way we can build an affordable network, connecting even the most rural properties, and that is with their local knowledge, assistance and free wayleave permissions.
North Skye Broadband hopes to deliver a wayleave agreement which is a simple, single page, easy to understand document that would give us permission to install North Skye Broadband ducts or equipment across a landowner’s property. We are very grateful for these free wayleaves as it is the only way a network of North Skye Broadband’s scale can be built by a community.
Shares for Work
We want our communities and landowners to own North Skye Broadband, and are currently exploring suitable ways for this to be achieved such as community share offerings.
North Skye Broadband aims to recognise the value people with professional groundwork skills and capital investment can make. We will develop full specifications for all work carried out by volunteers to ensure everything meets North Skye Broadband standards.
